Got one of these from AviatorNut. One of the landing gear broken in the box. Looks like it had been a re-shipped return as the landing gear bays were not even closed by the previous owner/fat-fingerer and the "warning" sticker was removed from the bay doors that the gear was broken on. Not too cool.
A question for you guys on the armaments. I have some very long armament mounts that are supposed to attach to the center bottom of the fuselage but there aren't enough holes in the fuselage to attach the mounts. The instructions show multiple holes but this bird doesn't have them. What I am missing?

Disregard my second paragraph question, I figured out what I was doing wrong. (Dumb)

i had to use close hangers to reinforce the landing gears!!
Re: JSI F-14 "Black Knights" a few questions
How did you use a coat hanger to support the landing gear?

Re: JSI F-14 "Black Knights" a few questions
I wish I still had the photos, but when mine broke, the inside of the gears were hollow. so I cut pieces from a close hanger, and stuff them inside and then re-glued the parts together. or try your local hobby shop and buy some metal rods, can't remember the exact size but I have tried both ways. I know those damn gears suck! I hope if there is another release they will be made of cold hard steel! or just metal!

There is a guy who make metal upgrade kit for F-14's landing gear. It's a bit expensive but it worth it. His name is Nathan and this is his email.

Get the metal gear from Nathan, you won't be sorry. If my 2 Cats weren't going to be displayed "in flight", I'd be using his gears.
