Galland 109 & PPM P-38 Now Available
Far Out Toys has them
Hi All, just went to Far Out Toys in San Jose to pick up my checkertail and he got in the Galland, Putt Putts, Tropical 109 and Sharkmouth Huey. I picked up a Galland with the Checkertail so it looks like I've got some repositioning of planes in my room coming up.
I had a collecting "rule" that I would only buy german planes -AFTER- I had gotten at least 2 of all the U.S./UK planes offered. (OK, you're allowed to laugh, but I know most of you guys do the same exact kinds of things -- we're all probably a little obsessive-compulsive with this stuff!)
The good news is that I met my goal (including the pre-ordered P47 bubble-top) and now have 3 109's (black, Galland, and desert camo) on the way. The bad news is that I met my goal and now have a basement full of really awesome looking toys and am quickly running out of place to display/hang them!
Can't wait to see that yellow-nosed 109! I missed out on the original and the spinach camo and this one looks just as good (if not better) than those in my opinion -- woohooo!!!

I was just looking at the pic of the Galland 109 on BCA's site and i thought i would mention to those who have it that, to be correct, you should definitely 100% for sure NOT display it with the drop tank that it comes with.
It may look neat but it is very wrong...in fact that was one of the major achille's heals of the 109 during the BoB: it's short range and the fact they did not have and long range fuel tanks they could use to solve the problem.
The range problem was so accute that they had barely a few minutes flying time over britain before they had to return home for fear of running out of fuel. Many 109s crashed in the channel, after running out of gas..
Long range drop tanks were developed for the 109 a few weeks after the battle was over. (november it think)

Drop Tanks
I'm going to try and take the 109 drop tanks and put them on my snake ju87. Hopefully something I can do that I won't screw up the plane or the drop tanks. We'll see ...
