SAAB Draken... swedish version from Altaya 1/72
really beautiful plane... one of the best piece released by altaya since the beginning of this collection (with the lighting).
Great colors and original plane... i wait the future SAAB Viggen now !
Only one bad point : i have two right wheels... so i put the draken in flight position.

Always liked the SAAB Deltas. Sharp looking aircraft.

Holy Macaroni! What a Beaut!
Been eagerly anticipating this Draken and the Viggen, my prayers for a decent Altaya effort has been answered
I've got the Kfir, Rafale & Mig-31 and been very pleased with them. I snoozed and missed out on the Gripen, waiting for it to be released in Portugal soon, I'm not gonna make the same mistake with this Draken
Thanks for the pics Cheesecake
Hobby Master - Please make the Draken and Viggen in diecast 1/72, so many nice schemes!

The brand "Aviation 72" has planed a Viggen... but after their australian F-18, no news from this brand... too bad !
I hope the paint of the next altaya viggen will be accurate... with the green/black/brown !
A complicated scheme to paint !
But, the grey version will be nice too, but not with the low vision painting like the gripen :
And why not this one... with nice decals under :

I see we both have the same tastes I've archived some of the same pics myself and thanks for the great link
The thing is Altaya usually does just one scheme for each release, most likely splinter camo for the Viggen, so hopefully they'd make an exception and release extra variants, like their Mirages?
I've always loved these pics,
Some Draken schemes I like, (Pit-Road has all the great schemes in 1/144)

Re: SAAB Draken... swedish version from Altaya 1/72
That is a pretty nice Draken.
Aviation 72 is going to do this also, so I will wait and see which one to get.
But, hats off to Altaya for doing this, and good to see you got the Mig 31 Gouchy. Haven't pulled the trigger on the Mig yet, but looks pretty good.
Would be nice if Altaya had a better North American distribution though.

I also have the model J-35 Draken 1/72 from Altaya.
Unfortunately, both landing gears (in the box) are right.
Do you have anyone the left landing gear - to exchange?

Re: SAAB Draken... swedish version from Altaya 1/72
I just received both the Draken and Viggen. the Draken's upper surface camouflage scheme doesn't match what I see in many pictures of the real plane and numerous kit-makes by professional builders. Also, the darker color on the upper surface is supposed to be a deep blue/gray, not whatever the Altaya factory used. So I redid the upper surface of the model with this result:
Re: SAAB Draken... swedish version from Altaya 1/72
As for the Viggen, this model sports a very complicated splinter scheme and the factory did a fairly good job on it----except in about 10 places where the factory cut its masks too short or off the mark. Accordingly, I redid about 15% of the upper surface to bring the scheme more in line with reality. It will be interesting to see how Aviation72 handles this particular scheme on its upcoming rendition of the same plane. Here's a picture of my slightly altered Altaya Viggen:
