Normandy Diorama suggestions

Post by AJWW2 » Sun Nov 20, 2011 5:38 pm

Hey,

I want to do a normandy diorama and I want to see what your suggestions are for what the main theme should be; i.e. beach landing, hedgerows, crossroads, trenches, etc.

Let me tell you that I have limited supplies, my only vehicles are a sherman (soon to be 2), soon to be tiger, german Hanomag, and a troop carrier American halftrack

I am planning for it to be at maximum 3"x3" ish

Any suggestions, but try to keep them simple, I cannot yet do any town/urban dios

Thanks,

AJ

For only 3"x3" Just use one tank and figures or an APC or two. ;) I would do just generic normandy hedgerow righting.

Take a look over at the Custom and Mods section of the site and check out Triggers dio.
You don't need a ton of stuff to make a great diorama! viewtopic.php?f=9&t=25429
oh and 3"x3" seems a little small for 1:18.

Buy 1 acre of a sand beach. What you have in the background of your diorama can distroy all the effect.

Use the serch function on a site called armorama. great source of knowledge there!!!

Read down some on this. Good info for your need probably. Remember, hedgerows are essentially lots of shit packed in and growing. I mean, we can go way more in depth about them but that is what it is in a nut shell.

Thanks flyboy, that is really helpful.

I want to remind everyone to not expect this to be done quickly, It is my first major project of any kind and I do not have immediate access to a whole bunch of materials. Thanks for everyone's advice.
