They'll never be at Wal-Mart...
Unless...
There are more IJ movies and they re-use old sculpts to get stuff out in a greater capacity.
And they weren't released because, as a toy line, Indiana Jones went nose-down into the ground once the movie came out. I bought scads of figures for $1... Original movies and new one. IJ stuff was pretty well done overall, with lots of articulation and pretty good sculpts/accessories. The movie did well, but as a toy vessel it suffered. IJ's got a limited life during a movie's opening.
These figures were actually tooled, but were scrapped when the line was on life-support at retail. The tooling being done though, Hasbro saw fit to put out a "final wave" then at SDCC, which there will probably be extras available for sale.
Now the question is, will there be another Jones film then? Hasbro owns the toy license, so if another film happens, I can easily see more toys coming out for it. Otherwise, this is pretty much it.
