German Supply train

Post by General Blasto » Mon Jun 22, 2009 7:42 am

A continuing meld of my two hobbies.
1 18th Military modeling and Garden railway(LGB).
Other than finding my custom decals, I've been able to put together a short supply train complete with guards that ride on top of the boxcars(well at least every other one). I also built a rider car with the "telephone booth" attached to the end of a boxcar(being I can't find a DR one). Here's a few shots :)

Now if I can find the decals and a couple more boxcars with the brakeman's seat on the roof, I'll be in good shape ;)

Great use of the LGB train and cars. It has the "authentic" German look. You need to show some Allied POWs (or Jewish political prisoners) trying to escape from the cars, without the guards noticing of course

To have prisoners, you need to use the boxcars with the vents(small barred windows along the top of the sides - 2 each side). These I have only one or two of, and they don't have the "porch on one end like LGB makes. They would have to be custom made cars. If I can find some, I'll make some ;) I did find one, but I was going to put the telephone booth looking brakeman's shack on it. But it could still transport some prisoners
