Bermuda Triangle Avenger--combat?

Post by dragon53 » Sun Feb 08, 2009 2:05 pm

Do any of you guys with lots of reference books know if the Flight 19/Bermuda Triangle TBM Avenger flown by Charles Taylor ever saw combat before it was lost?
The only info I could find is the Avenger's BuNo #23307.

Thanks for any info.

Nope, those particular Avengers never saw combat. Those were brand new planes for training new pilots.

And out of the whole flight, only the flight instructor, Charles Taylor, had any combat experience.

GOOGLYDOOGLY:

Thanks again for the background/history info.
I still haven't decided on buying the Bermuda Triangle Avenger from Monkeydepot---outside of the fact that it's a good deal and the connection to CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND, I'm not enthralled about buying it. But I would jump at the chance to buy a Bunker Hill Avenger for $35.
