21st German Mortar Play Set Halftrack Question

Quite a few old play sets have surfaced at WM suddenly and one is the German Mortar team with the 8 ton halftrack. Now this vehicle was in circulation before I got into 1:32 so I never got one. I do have a few Mortar pits though. So to those who have the vehicle, is it worth spending the twenty bucks just to get one?

Yes, the German SDKfz 7 is a nice vehicle. I have the original gray one. The vehicle has a removable top, opening engine and side compartments. The original came with a driver figure, though I'm not sure about the mortar set. With a little modification, the halftrack can pull the 21c 88mm gun. Hope this helps!

Yes, thank you, it sounds very nice! Now if only a DAK PZ III and a grey Opel Blitz would pop up.

Absolutely. Ditto what Tman said.

These were both plentiful around here at one time.... just before 21C products completely hit the skids at local WM stores in my AO. If you guys are finding anything at your WM's and are even remotely interested in the item, I would suggest you grab it before it disappears for a long time, maybe forever.

Rows, just remember this is an old mold and it doesn't have the detail of the newest releases. This is not one of 21Cs more "exciting" releases but it does look good with the 88MM in tow. Maybe not accurate, but good.

Wouldn't It be cool if all the old releases had the detail of the 38T/Marder/Hetzer.

I had several DAK pz IIIs, sold all of them here and on ebay

It's ok, but it needs help badly.

tech the L is on a D/E 37mm III with a new Turm..same chassis.

esp since the 38(t) came out, we know 21st could do a III M w/ Deep wading muffler justice..or if they did a N which uses J-M chassis depending on whom and when it was built.

Seriously though...yeh, the 21st Panzer III may need some improvement, and I'm no expert on the III, but this one is my fave...

That's a cool little dio there! I like the 21st Panzer III as well. I had a DAK version with the very un-pc Afrika Korps insignia to boot. But like many things I shouldn't have sold, I sold it.

I have my DAK Panzer III and I love it, one of my favorite tanks, actually. I really do like how they snuck in the AK logo all the way.

Unfortunately the Opel couldn't have that...

I've got both the DAK Panzer IIIs. One is the later "L" variant with the all-tan scheme, the other, and my personal favorite, is the "E" version with the 37mm gun and heavy weathering. The Panzer IIIE looks perfect along with enthusiast grade FOV tanks - and it also has the swastika symbol included on the front glacis
