Finally got one of each in 1:32...

Post by RAD 2112 » Mon Sep 29, 2008 5:58 pm

I finally have one of each plane 21st Century put out in 1/32.

Granted, I don't have EVERY single paint scheme... only because the Mrs would kill me.

The latest plane in my collection is the P-40B.
I only have a few issues with it

1. I can't believe it's that heavy! Was this forged from a billet of plastic?
2. What's with all of the flippin' screws?
3. Canopy doesn't stay on.

Other than that...
1. Paint scheme is beautiful.
2. Landing gear works and stays up.
3. Working Flaps! That was actually a pleasant surprise... they couldn't do that with the Spifire <Sheesh>

Overall, it's a pretty good plane.

Now that there's a lull... time to get working on some customs.

The plastic on the early models was really thick and toy-like. The P-40's canopy was a sore point just like on the 1:18 version which IIRC this was scaled down from. I wish they would make a P-40E like their 1:48 Aleutian Tigers model.

Seriously, you could use it as a club.
I would have liked to see s P-40E as well.

Here's one in 1:35 scale... too rich for me.

If they haven't come out with a P-38 or Mosquito, I doubt they would have released a B-17

Now that you mentioned it, I could go for a B-25J...

I'm pretty close to having every paint scheme as well. Just missing a few of the more recent Thunderbolts and Mustangs that seem to be tough to get now.
