Inspired by Coreyeagle, and Alloy skull, I decided to post my collection:

First off, a shot of my shelf of 1/32nd scale aircraft. I picked up the POW/MIA flag in California. Above it is an 82nd Airborne flag as well:

I made the placards using pre-cut pieces I bought at a local arts and crafts shop. Information for each aircraft was typed out on my PC using the box labels for reference or by doing google searches. I then cut each label to the shape of the placard, and attached them using a glue stick. I figured it would be a nice touch in case visitors got inquisitive.

Nice collection you have there, and the little info placards are a nice touch...a great idea.

The only problem I have with displaying all this stuff out in the open like you guys seem to be doing is DUST,

if I left my stuff out like that it would have a layer of dust on it you could write your name on in no time at all, ack!

then I would have to vacuum it or something, and I'm wayyyy too lazy for that.

Here is the Ost motor pool..... this represents about 1/10th of my full collection, most of which is in boxes stored away...

SWEET collection you've got there, Fox. I have to agree that the placards are a great touch - it makes it less of a toy collection & more of an exhibit

Equally sweet AFV collection, ostketten. Looks like both cabinets will collapse if you add any more armor!

It's simple. In my case I used small pre-cut wooden plaques (I can't remember the exact name or dimensions but I think they're slightly larger than a credit card). You can get them at any crafts store. For mine I went to Michael's.

Step 1: Type out the information on the aircraft on a word processor (Microsoft Works, Word, etc...). Make sure you use a font that is legible, and a size that can easily be seen yet is not to big (I recommend size 14).

For each model I typed out the following:
-Name of Aircraft
-Pilot (And if listed, number of kills)
-Unit and location
-Year of operation

If you own any planes from 21st's 32X lineup, The labels on each box will help greatly. If not, try sites like Badcat and Wartoyz, they usually have info on the plane depicted. Also try a google search. That's what I did with my BBI Phantom, and FOV Spitfire Mk. IX.

Print multiple copies too! Just in case you mess up (I did a few times

).

Step 2: Carefully cut/trim the label so that it will match the shape of the placard (This is quite time consuming if you have multiple aircraft, so take a break if you get tired.)

Step 3: Using a glue stick, rub glue on the part of the wood you want the label to go on, and carefully position it either using your fingers (If you have a steady hand, or tweezers. Afterwards, use some weight (a large book for example) to press the label down onto the glue so it will grab hold.

Great collection, especially the figs!

I've never thought of using placards... Then it would actually be like a musuem...

I love the 1:6 figures, and the German about to get gutted while taking a leak is priceless...

I wish I could do posters in my plane room, along with custom shelves, but my dad's amazing baseball collection resides here too.
