Yeah the 202 I have is flat like Hiroshima in '45 after being "Gay'ed" up.
I was gonna say something else but I felt it was rather offensive even to myself, so I thought of something more relevant.
I'm praying that they make the Fw-190A in one of those slick schemes with the black jagged area aft of the cowling, and the ones outlined in red... mind blowing. I've seen one or two wear it fades into an eagle's head... Oh I'd kill. No seriously, you don't think I would? I can't paint!

This didn't fade into an eagle pattern, rather they would paint it. The reason for this is the early models would spew copious amounts of oil out of the vents streaking the craft. The black eagle was so this would not show up against a lighter paint finish.

3 questions about the new FW-190 Red 9:
1. What was Red 9's theater of operations? (France, USSR ?) and who was the pilot?
2. Anyone notice the big gap in the tail of the FW-190 Red 9 in Badcat's photo?

PANZER_M:
Priller flew FW-190s with differing paint schemes. Do you know which FW-190 paint scheme he was flying in over Juno?
PS..the Priller strafing scene of Juno from the pilot's viewpoint was the most impressive scene from THE LONGEST DAY---it reminds me of the scene in SAVING PRIVATE RYAN where the audience sees Ryan's body floating in the surf.

1. Red 9 was an Eastern Front bird... I don't have the box (at work), but I don't think a pilot is noted.dragon53 wrote:3 questions about the new FW-190 Red 9:

Grafs 190 would be cool, but Hartmann never flew 190s, only 109s...MG-42 wrote:* I'll take a "Hermann Graf" or an "Eric Hartmann" , or Both. *![]()

* "Thanks Harry" . ... I got Hartmann confused w/ Graf's or something like that. *
... Anyway , I stand corrected. *
* Yes , "Hartmann" was offered a 190 and even a 262 , but passed on both for the 109. *
