That M1 looks good, not to mention the M3A2. I as well especially like the option of a newer variant.

So what if they aren't as accurate as the 21C or bbi offerings, at these prices they are an excellent base for some awesome custom work. I think 21C and bbi could learn a little something from FOV on their weathering techniques. Highlighted panel lines, subtle washes and shadowing add depth and detail far better than silver paint smears and fingerprints.

Still waiting for these things to show in my AOR. (Andy, I'll let you know when they show!) When they do, I'm going to need two shopping carts.

Great pics man you are making me wish i could get these even more! How is the M240B is it as good / Better then the BBI one?

Grunt, great work as always. With all these companies the database is no small task!

The paint and weathering on the Bradley and M1 look awesome. I realize they are missing some details but as display pieces they look great.

The figs look like fun too. Some of the web gear is a bit too colorful but in general some great stuff from fov, and out of the blue!

we have a good bunch of folks here on the board; guys like Teamski with his aircraft profiles, grunt1 with his data base work etc. Sure is helpful.

According to Birddog, Unimax said they have more for the 1/18 line planned. I salivate with anticipation..

Yep. I emailed them and they replied that the World War II items are on the way....

They also replied yes when I asked about cotinuing the line beyond the known products.

Hope this means we'll see more of their 1/72 and 1/32 products converted to 1/18.

Have to keep a wathcful eye.

Pulled out my FOV M1 and my bbi M1 and took some comparison shots for everyone.

Size Comparison-Overall, both tanks are perfect in size to each other. The bbi M1 has a longer barrel (not by much) than the FOV M1.

Compartments/Detail- Both have the same opening hatches on the turret. Driver's hatch dosen't open on either one. You have to put the figure in a sitting position with bbi's M1 where the figure is in a standing position with FOV's. Detail wise, I think they are both on the same level although bbi does have some extra accessories hanging here and there. Nothing a little Build-A-Rama can't fix on FOVs.

Paint Applications- FOV wins hands down in my opinion. It just has a more realistic look. The weathering is really nice and really contributes to the selling point of the tank to me.

I think I'm going to have to go with FOV as the winner here, in part to the paint applications. Take a look and see what you think...

I agree, the FoV mainly due to the paint looks a lot more realistic and weathered. The turret mounted guns are a little lacking. The 50 cal is made of a very soft plastic and is a single color (gray). Very similar to the warp prone 50 cals on some of the earlier 21st Century 32x halftracks and armor. The good news is that several figures come with a fantastic and well painted 50 cal that is a solid gun. A few hits with the dremel and it mounts easily onto the M1.

The figures look fantastic. Easily the best moderns to date. The MRE's and gas cans are also well done and make for a very nice loadout in the cargo basket on the M1. My only gripe is that they could learn a thing or two from 21C in the hands department.

Outstanding news that there is more 1:18 on the way, and WWII at that! Yippie!!

I found a partial assortment of the FOV figures at one target store in my area, along with two woodland cammo M1 Abrams. Then, at another Target, I found a complete set of the figures, but no vehicles. I didn't get the M1, but may go back tomorrow to do just that. These are by far the best modern figures to date! Excellent detail and articulation, plus USEFUL accessories! All around great job by Unimax in their first forray into 1:18

Unfortunately the "nub" on all of the newer (D-Day) hands is too small to stay in on it's own. If you are ok gluing your guys, you'll be fine. That doesn't work for me so I'm using the BBI and 21C BOB/Marine era hands which work pretty well.

::edit:: I noticed when taking this picture that the actual FoV nubs and amount of arm that is articulated as part of the "hand" vary in size. Still can't fit the D-Day 21C hands and stick, but interesting..
