NEW DIORAMA CONTEST!!!

Post by RED » Fri Nov 16, 2007 8:26 pm

Hey yall !!!! I was thinking of starting a new contest and was wanting to know how many folks would want to join in on the fun????The prize would only be a patch but I thought it might be fun!!!!!I was hopeing to get about 10 or more folks to enter!!!!The contest would be to enter a picture of your favorite 1:18 figure doing whatever!!!Like one of the new D-Day figures digging a ditch or just standing around!!!! Or maybe a older figure standing on a tank, plane or crossing a stream!!!! The dio (if you will )would only be small but I think it might be fun to see what yall might come up with!!!I hope I can get some takers and maybe we can have some other diorama contests in the future!!! The dead line would be the 2nd of December at 8:00 EST!!!! If yall want I can post a picture of the patch!!! It is a star inside a circle with a red dot inside the star with wings on the sides of the circle!!!I hope this works out !!!!---RED---

A 1:32 category would be neat as there are some interesting figure poses, but it sort of defeats the purpose. Arranging and posing 1:18 figures may also involve a bit more creativity ithan if just using a pre-posed 1:32 figure...

Since there is only the one prize, we had probably keep it to one scale and make that 1:18th

I couldnt say it better myself!!!!!The contest was attended to be 1:18 so yall could be a little creative with your favorite figure!!!! And if yall want to use 2 or more figures thats cool to!!!! Say like a MG team defending a flank or a maint. crew repairing the track on a Sherman, ect!!!! I was thinking of it just being a 1 photo contest cause the prize is only a patch and really wouldnt be no need for a diorama on a grand scale---but I might make it a 2 photo dio contest!!!! The contest is just a little something to pass the time between the summer/fall contest and what I hope to be the a winter dio contest!!!! I had alot of fun with the summer/fall contest that I thought this might be fun too!!! I would like to hear some feedback from yall and if yall would like to enter!!!!I would like to get about 10 or more folks to enter!!!!---RED---

So doing a photo of a Nuremburg rally with perhaps 300 troops, Mr. Hilter and cronies would be outta the question  :P  Best anyway, I wouldn't want to spend the time settin' that one up ;) I was thinkin' more of like a small squad with Stiener and crew :) Da General

I will sign up, if there's no waiting period since you joined ;)
Perhaps one of the small scalers should have a contest for the scales below 1/18th. Da General

Hey yall!!! Well it looks like we got 6 maybe 7 folks who want to enter the contest!!! :D I would like to get about 3 or 4 more and Im sure we will so if you have enter you can go ahead and start doing whatever it is yall need to do!!!! :P If we dont get 10 we will just go with what we got!!!! The RULES are 3 photos must be enterd and I we judge them on whos 3 pictures look the best(as in the scene, and the creativity that was put into the dio) , no photoshopping, and customs of all kinds are allowed!!!! Any confict is also allowed as long as your dio is historically accurate!!!! Other than the contest rules anything goes!!! So if you want a action dio Im cool with that,if you want a picture with your favorite figure rideing on a Tiger tank and loading a MG-34 on the turret Im cool with that to but I want the picture to be more about the figure and what they are doing!!!! Im just trying to keep it simple---but I want yall to give it your best!!! :P ---RED---
