I have been toying with this idea for some time now. With the 1/32 Zeros that have been out now for sometime and the new 1/144 A6M2 Zero, I was thinking of trying to one of these:

But, I will need help with the float any ideas on that?

That small of a scale, you might be able to carve it out of wood.

i think you need to make one out of 1/18 scale zero. That would be tooo coool

for the float, start looking around at r/c planes, especially park flyers, as they will be smaller. You may eventually find one of them that has a float you can use.

I am waiting for a 1/32 scale model of the Rufe to come in. I can let you know. By my eye the plane is the same except for that rear tab on the bottom rear of the fuse. And the floats of course. It seems that all you have to realy do are the floats but with the zeros going for crazy money I am hesitant on touching it in a custom because they are what they are. If BBI releases them again it would be worth it to customize.

I have a wooden airplane model that is a Rufe'. You would have to scale down the plans for 1/32nd scale but it would work.
Let me know if you need plans and I'll copy them for you warhawker.

1/18 Zeros - I have both version from BBI and they way they are going or lack of them out there - Aviatiornuts you are nuts if you think I am going to try it on thoses bad-boys. :D
I am leaning on the 1/32 or really the 1/144. Smaller and more out there. Plus I think it will be easier than on a larger scale.
Rogue - I may need to look at your book with the line drawings if I commit to this venture!
