Hey fellas, exactly what shade of green are the german uniforms and is it available as an acrylic model paint? I've been doing a lot of customs recently but I need the green of the german uniform to complete some of them. Other colors I've been able to mix but the green seems very hard to come by. Any help would be appreciated, thank you. :D

well I use a tamiya paint called....here it comes...German Grey. It is more gray then green but it works and is only about 3 bucks for a small bottle.

Which German uniforms are you trying to replicate?

The Germans that I want to repaint are the first camo guys from the 18 new ones that just came out and a couple of the BOB guys in camo snow uniforms. Jackets with camo pants, etc. I did a few different customs of some of them but I wanted to do a green one. I'll try to post pictures sometimes today when I get them done. Thanks guys!

Well, PolyScale has a Panzer Olive Green that might be useful.

XF-65 Field Grey(Actually a green) for Mid-Late War Uniforms(Heer) and XF-63 German Grey for early campaign grey, Tamiya Paints. Panzer Lehr HBT Panzer Wraps were closer to Olivegrun than Field Grey IIRC.

but really Uniforms were rarely uniform in color, esp in the later years...different materials and different makers all made variants of standard colors.

Sorry for being naive when it comes to painting techniques but dry brushing is when you wipe of most of the paint before right?

The Middle Man in the first pic..Red or Pink Piping?

Trying to figure if you gave him a panzer crusher or if he's Sturmartillerie

might just be my screen is off on the color.

It's red, but the brightness of the flash gave em a pink glow. With that fig I just did an arm swap with a 21st panther commander. the other officer is a head swap and the regular soldier is a melding of a Dragon fig and one of the new 21st guys. The two Dak guys are also Dragon and 21st combos. I'm really just starting to get into doing soldier customs, many of course are only head swaps. I wanted some different uniform designs so I painted on thse bob guys. I got the idea for the bob guys when I went to build-a-rama's page and seen some of the painted figs they had posed with thier dios. www.build-a-rama.com Those machine gun crews are awesome. 8)
