Small Scale Military Headquarters

Silver or grey? I always used silver to simulate paint chips on my models but I've heard that grey is a better choice. So my question is which of the above or any other color for that matter is generally the most realistic.

i use Testor's chrome silver and then either rub it with a kleenex after it's dry or dullcote it. Rubbing it makes it take on a blackish grey tone but it still has a shiny lustre and dullcoting makes it look like a flat silver metal colour.

Hmm, that sounds like it would do the trick nicely! Thanks! It's been about four years since I've done any weathering and detail work so I'm going to get in a little practice with a beat up old FOV Sherman I have.
