WIP Spartan as seen in "300"

Post by steelbonnet » Thu Mar 15, 2007 12:00 pm

Hi all,

Well I`ve been after wanting to do one for awhile now & after seeing Fritz`s excellent figure but moreso this 1/6th custom (It`s not mine, saw it online) I had to do one.

Now seeing this 1/6th custom truely made me want to have a crack & do my own at 1/18th. I do find sometimes the guys who do these wonderfull 1/6th customs do inspire for us to make our own versions at 1/18th.

So I offer some WIP so far.

Tan MM body. Head is Burnout (I think). I`ve gave him short hair & the ponytail, though need to sort out the beard.
His pants are actual Leather & the belt too. The cloak is from the Hot Toys AVP Predator Elder, though DH`s mum is hopfully making me some in a brighter red ;)
The shield is based around the Cap shield,as it offers the correct size (just needs filling & then detailing & painting). The spear is a AOD Trident modified.
The shin armour is from the AOD knights & the sandled feet are from XD Vietcong.
The sword I cut from plasticard & shaped with a dremel. Also has the correct edges on the sword.
I`m currently working on the helmets (I`m doing 4 as that`s how many cloaks I`ve asked DH to get his mum to make :D ). They will be all removable too.
I`ll be basing it totally on the same style too.

Well that`s it for now.

Ja

Hello Steelbonnet, Looks good . :D I have seen the movie( we won a special sneak preview). It looks real close the main carracter . Hopefully the sheild wont be a big deal to customise. Now if only you can ge that big rihno and a couple of those inbred mutants. Oh by the way my Tender Terror pilot could be a good start for one of the the mutants :D
Kirk Douglas : Mine hit the ground first
John Wayne : Mine was taller
