Colonial Marines WIP UPDATE

Hi All,
A little somthing i started just before the puter was fixed.

Well we all know about the Hot Toys USCM that came out last year :D What a pleasant addition to our collections they were too :D

I`ve scoured enough to make 4 squads,2 are straight from the Movie (as accurate as I can get) & 2 are of my own creation. The squads are still WIPs though so updates will be sporadic.

To kick the ball off,As we know Hot Toys didn`t do any female Marines, moreso they didn`t do Deitrich & Vasquez.
Well using GI Jane & Bombstrike I`ve addressed that for my Movie squads.

So I present WIPs of Deitrich`s armour first of all.

Now here`s an Almost complete Vasquez, who I`ve got stood next to a Hot Toys Drake (repainted hair to be more accurate).

Well there you have them so far. Almost there.
If you notice with Deitrich`s shoulder pieces I`ve made them so they don`t hinder the arms movement (a little like the 1:1 where they are on straps). Also note the USCM patch she has on.
There is no head yet as i`m sculpting that & it`s not quite ready.

As for Vasquez, well she`s almost done now. Need to sort the headband & also hands (articulated) & sand down the wrists & a few little things & then she`ll be ready to ROCK!

Oh here`s one of my own Creation USCMs from my custom squads.
USCM FORCE RECON.

He`s made from: TUS XD NAM SEAL head & Hands,Hot Toys Apone Torso,Hot Toys DRAKE Legs, waist & Arms.
I painted the arms to match the smeared cammo look on the TUS Head & hands.
The reason the unarmoured legs,No Helmet is for swifter/quieter movement. After all the Motion tracker isn`t the quietest piece of kit,so for those "EYES ON" Situations, you send in FORCE RECON.
I plan on either adding a scope to his M41A or scratch building a M42 for him & maybe a silenced sidearm/back-up for quiet wetworks.

Looking forward to hearing what you think to these :D

Thank`s

Simply awesome steel.I dont know if youve seen it,but the gijoe vehicle,R.H.I.N.O.,looks really close to the apc used in the movie and it seats about 12.Someone over at the joecustoms board modded one while back.

Thank`s Very much guys & really glad you like these :D
Vasquez is pretty much done now (photos during today). Still need to sort out painting the armour on Deitrich & finish painting the headsculpt too.

As for an APC & Dropship.Awww man that indeed would be sweet.
I actually started a APC last year but it went belly up & got partially damaged when I had to clear my hobby room to turn into the baby`s new room (So unfair as she`s a fraction of the size of me you know...LOL).
So I may actually cheat now & take the R.H.I.N.O. option, though there`s a part of me that wants an accurate version & if FNG can build one at 1/6th,hell I hopefully can manage one at 1/18th (even is a quater as sweet as his).
Now the Dropship, well that would be truely magnificent to pull that off alas I`m truely not sure if I`ve got A,talent enough & B,Ball`s enough to tackle a 1/18th UL-4 Cheyenne Dropship.

Again Thank`s guys.

Hi Guys,

Just a quick & probably last update on the Colonial Marines.

I`ve just got to sort out kit for the guys & do a few more touches (Frost needs hair & folded sleeves) & helmoet covers for 3 of them & of course pick a head for Wierzbowski.
Hick`s also is awaiting a better headsculpt from JFAK075 (on www.joecustoms.com ) & rolling his sleeves up higher as in film.

Anyway here you go.

First off here`s Deitrich (My Custom female Marine) & Apone (notice he`s got his kit correct to movie & has long sleeves).
Image

Next we have Frost & Hudson (Frost as said needs some more work but notice he`s too got appropriate sleeves though need rolled up cuffs & webbing sorted,Hudson & Frost have appropriate graffitti.Hudson needs Gerber knife adding).

Rear of Hudson showing "Eyes".

The Marines.

Well hope you like the update :D I had hoped to have more done but well new baby & 2 other daughters, things arn`t going as planned...LOL
