Panzer IV Modifications

Thanks to boardmember Gary1930, my S1 Panzer IV now has schurtzen
I purchased a set from his ebay auction and when they arrived spent the whole afternoon painting and attaching them. I would highly encourage any boardmembers considering a set of schurtzen to get some! It beats paying the high price for a Europanzer

Closeup showing bracket

I designed my shurtzen to be removable so that the tank is left unharmed. The brackets were made using a staple-gun staple that had been trimmed to about 1/4 inch in height. I only made a couple of brackets for each side, as the schurtzen are all one piece. To attach the bracket, I drilled out tiny holes using a hand drill and glued in the bracket. I then painted the schurtzen using a mixture of Testors Acrylic US Army Gulf Tan lightened with flat white. The green color is a little off, but I will be rectifying that soon. Nonetheless, I thought it came out looking good and the addition of schurtzen greatly improve the look of the tank!
Hope this inspires some would-be customizers and thanks again Gary
