Here's what I 've been working on over the last two weeks. I added the tail fillet and painted all of the graphics. Only the serial number on the tail and the I AN squadron letters are decals. I'll try to get better pics outside once we get some sun again. The last two photos are of all 5 of my custom paint planes.

Beautiful work! T. H. is one of my favorite P-47 schemes... looks like you nailed it. Keep up the good work, I love seeing peoples custom work.

Now if I could figure out how to get pics of some of my stuff on here..... :?

Thanks for the compliments everybody. The Lone Star Flight Museum's P-47 Tarheel Hal was the inspiration to do this custom. I see that plane every year at both the Wings Over Houston airshow and LSFM's open house airshow. It is always one of my favorites.

As for the tail strake, I've posted a work in progress pic to see how it was done. I cut sections out of my already damaged B-36 wings. Also, my hands aren't all that steady, so for the stars and lettering, I went to Hobby Lobby and found star stickers and letter stickers. I painted the white first, then put down the stickers. Then I sprayed the blue and peeled off the stickers.

Nice job, I'm sure the pics don't do it justice.

Tarheel came right over Propwash this summer. That was a nice surprise. 8)
