Hi Guys!
I am always on the look out for items that will work in a diorama or display for 1/18 scale figures and their vehicles.
I found a great one by McFarlane that come with a 6" or 7" US soldier and rocket launcher.
It's a brickwall and floor:
I was wondering what you guys thought about McFarlane's "The Hatch" from TV's LOST:

Does anyone have this item? Can the figures be seperated from the hatch? I think it could be used as a pillbox with jungle around it.
What do you guys think???

The hatch actually reminds me of something I saw on a website about WWII-era Russian bunkers and such long buried and forgotten out in the Russian countryside:

That Kiev defensive line of bunkers and Elena's exploration of them took me over an hour to digest it all.
She has other items of interest too-
-motorcycles
-Chernobyl
-Stalin's prison camps
WOW! that's my kind of woman! She goes everywhere, isn't afraid to get her hands dirty and her writing is to the point - plus she looks great too!
Sign me up on the tour of Kiev!

Elena's sites and explorations are very impressive. I first discovered her work about 3 years ago, when all she had posted was her Chernobyl explorations. She has since expanded it dramatically. I bought a copy of the DVD she references for Chernobyl, and seeing the video really makes her title "Ghost Town" take on some meaning. There are pictures on the site as well a fair amount of footage on the DVD from a grade school, and it is unnerving. First time I saw the movie "Silent Hill", I was reminded of it.
