(for the MODS)

EDIT* (sorry if this is the 1000th thread on this subject, either i used the wrong wording....or it hasnt been coverd when doing "search"..so mods please link the way, if there is a correct thread for this)

(for the "masses")

I have noticed that the aircraft from BBI and 21st CENTURY have colored, but clear lenses for the port/starboard lights on the wings.(not painted on red/green) by original production, were these ever to light up? or are they clear so that the collector could add thier own lighting, without having to custom mold/fit the new lens into the body?

has anyone here done this? if so, what items work best for good results? (as in size of battery, switch, style/type of light)

and maybe a motor for the prop? nothing to try to make it fly, just something to spin the prop.

thx!

Well I cannot speak on the lights though as for the props. I believe some of the other plane lovers have used Fans to make the blades go around.

Maybe one of those will pipe up & give you a debrief. Though I believe if you check out the customs thread topics you`ll find it yourself.

yeah i saw the video with the corsair in backyard with fan out of camera view.

actually im not too worried about a prop/engine.... but the lighting is something i would like to try, but am oblivious to the current crop of new lighting techniques for models and such.

hi
they are called rice lights by the train guys
i find that they come in several colors and volts.
i used them on a 1/350 SS. United States i built for a guy
and used a 3volt power pack from Michaels Chistmas display to power it
i used fiber optics and clear rice diode for port holes. also red and green leds for navigation lites.
