I was very inspired by Steelbonnet and his customized euro max with sidecar so I took the concept to Afrika.

Have some more weathering and finishing to do but here they are so far.

Enjoy :-)

Hey Grunt1,

Well thank`s for the very kind mention.

are those PTE legs you grafted onto your rider? Good idea. Nice little DAK collection you've made for yourself.

They are indeed Powerteam legs Aferg.

It`s what i used too for my US WWII MPs & the Rider with German rider too.

The waist is pretty adaptable to work with both BBI & XD Torso`s :D & thus giving you the High articulated legs of PTE.

Hey thanks guys. Most of it happened by accident. Stopped by the hobby store to get some DAK paint for the bike. Found a nice reference book on DAK troops, bikes, vehicles etc.. and got so inspired I couldn't stop until 3am. :-D

Anyway, the standing infantry is a Dragon Action 18 Wiking Division (I think) guy just painted in DAK colors with some weathering.

The rider top half is another Dragon Wiking troop that just happened to have great fixed arm positions for riding a bike. The bottom half (thanks SB for the idea) is one of the recently released PTE guys. I plan on doing another one so I can post some work in progress shots. Pretty easy though. Just unscrew his chest, pop him apart and the lower half comes loose. Some snipping and you can then actually snap the lower PTE torso post into the upper Dragon torso hole.

As you can see in the images, though the fit is perfect, I hadn't glued mine yet and he was coming apart a bit.

The bike is the max that SB posted about a while back. I ordered mine from the same shop in the UK. Great service and great bike.

Again Grunt1 A Superb Job & consider these borrowed mate for when i make some DAK ;) :D

BTW have you thought of using a similar coloured cloth for the lower part of the tunic?? Sometimes hard to find a good match though certainly adds so much more & being cloth doesn`t affect the articulation of the figure either.

It`s great to be inspired & inspire & SSHQ most certainly does that :D

If imitation is the sincerest for of flattery, I paid tribute to you last night, Grunt1.

When the kids finally went to bed, took a Dragon and PTE fig, and made the conversion. Now I just need some paint.

One idea for the waist - I used a 10-24 bolt glued into the legs (at least, I think a 10-24). Its the right size to just screw the upper body from the Dragon guy on, and does a good job of holding on to it.

Again, thanks for the inspiration.

It's like an inspiration virus. SB > Grunt > MM > .... :-D

For paint, I used the conveniently named paints from Model Master:

Field Jackets and webbing:
Afrika Khakibraun '41 (aka khaki green)

Soldier Pants and the motorbike body:
Afrika Braun '42 (aka Tan)

I would have used Acrylics but they were not in stock at the store so I had to use enamels in this case.

Good news on the paints. I really like the Model Masters stuff. I've been using that to paint my Marauder John guns, and it holds up real well to putting it in figures hands.
