This is what I started making in 1/18 before XD came along. There were only 1/18 scale cars and motorcycles. I enjoy building these as much as she does playing with them.

All doors on all buildings are hinged. Except the large garage door on the service station. The roofs come off so she can get to the inside easily.

I've noticed that some Sinclair stations have a large one on their roofs, not that big to scale. It does make a good handle.

Yes RED, I've actually been working on one since last Fall. I've made my own plaster casts for the buildings. I haven't done much with it lately. I've got 4 walls poured already. It was an experiment. I might end up making them out of foamboard instead.
I have made a few "unbombed" farmhouses based on the dimensions of the 21C farmhouse. I'll post a couple pics of them too.

Yeah, the far left of the table has all of my Japanese figs and a bunch of Marines marching them off somewhere. The right end has all of the German troops and tanks.

Very nice Kevrut. I like the buildings you made. They match the destroyed farmhouse pretty well.

Kevrut...
Hehe...those first couple pics (mainly the gas station) remind me of the scenes from FIRST BLOOD, before the town became a warzone!!! I can picture picture Brian Denehy and Stallone going at it around the Car Dealership and the other buildings. I like the set up of your German Town...reminds me of what Bavaria looks like. Excellent work again!!

Wow that's great, and big! I love the farmhouses, they are a great match. Wish I would've picked one of those up when I had the chance...
(I did manage to get a hayloft) I'd love to see more pics of your farmhouse... I'm curious, did you make the interior too?
great job!

I would like to see inside pics of the unbombed Normandy building too!
Your stuff is GREAT!
Do you have any plans on how to make the buildings? or do you ever make any to sell?
I would be interested...

These are from the actual photos you showed me once at Steak & Shake , remember Kevin ? ... Nice job. Glad you posted these to share. It's comforting to see parents that actually take the time to do this sort of thing for their kids. Children are important ! .... "Lots of love", and it shows.

I thought I would post a pic of what I did with my XD stuff. Someone kicked a couple wooden hutches (cabinets) to the curb earlier this year and I took them home and painted them white to display some of my customs. I took the doors off. They're not the same size, but it works for me. My Panthers and Tigers are too big for the shelves. The Shermans just barely squeezed in. I think I need a couple more cabinets.
I figured this would be better than putting them back in their boxes whenever I wasn't using them. Won't need to keep the boxes any more.

I like freebies!

Kevrut,
Here`s a possible for riders for those bikes mate, see what i did with mine.........
Using:-
XD:- Tanker torso,Lower arms,feet& head.
PTE:- Shoulders,waist & legs.
Adjust with dremel the hole in the torso to fit the PTE waist
Showing the articulation.
On a Bike.
I don`t mean to appear if i`m hijacking the thread as that`s not my intention,i looked & couldn`t see my WIP 2 WWII MP cyclist custom thread,so showing these WIP makes it easier to inspire
Though here`s the thread for the pair completed with customized bikes too.
