1/18 P-38 "Wine, Women and Song" decals

Post by billgiff » Tue Jul 04, 2006 12:52 pm

I'm finally getting around to applying Bad Cat's decals to my A.C. that have been in storage for a while. My question is: Does anybody have any pictures of their Invasion P-38 with the "WW&S" decals applied? Where exactly do they all go? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Bill

I have had em on my DDAY P-38 for what seems to be a few years now, Betty goes on the left (sitting in cockpit) outside engine cover, the main decal top almost touches the bottom of the black non reflective surface in front of the canopy and it is obvious where the swastikas go. If I had a digital camera, this bs would not be necessary. AND REMEMBER, DECAL SET IS A WONDERFUL IDEA, I DID NOT DO IT AND THE MAIN DECAL HAS FLAKED A LITTLE.

Here's a profile and photo that might help. These came from boardmember Teamski's profiles website :D

The decals apply to the left side of the fuselage and the left engine. I also applied the decals that I got from the BCA site to my P-38 and got very pleasing results! (It was my first time customizing an XD plane and using decal solvent.) I would strongly recommend using the decal solvent as this practically blends the decal to the surface, making it look like it was painted on, and it also protects the decal.

You can also see why this aircraft's particular nose art was left off the XD model

Thanks to mikeg and tman for the help. I hope all goes well because BCA does't sell them anymore. Bill

I must say that adding these decals make an already awesome plane look even better. I don't know how to post pictures. I already tried and I'm not trying again. If you want any pictures of my finished P-38, ask and I email them to you. Bill
