I've tried to add some diversity to my new bbi Sepcial forces team

2 chopper harris
2 SF guys
4 seals

so i did a headswap with a SF guy : i gave him a blond head from the 21st cent. sahara figs. I've still got to paint his trousers ou give him some short sleeves... i'll try and figure it out this week-end

i'm planning on doing the same (headswap) to one of the nightstalkers and maybe paint the seals all green in order to prep them for French camo and at least make them look like the GIGN guys who were escorting the Joint chief of staff on a visit to kabul

Well Julien, For Sunglasses I suggest the following.

Well ScopeUK made some for his figures just using the plastic BAG Ties/flexi cuffs.
You may want to ask him on how.

Hey Blaster interrested to see what you do and for the Sunglasses as Ja said the way i did mine was to:
Take the smallest flexi cuff youcan find
cut off the thin end and the square end
Fold the piece of plastic in half and snip a triangle shape at the fold (make sure you don't cut it into two) this is your nose piece.
Then put the nose piece on the figand measure where the eyes are then snip either side of the nose piece in an opposite diaganal direction to the nose. Again take care not to snip the end right off.
then you cut in from the ends of the cable tie into the top of the last cut. you should end up with a shape like an W with small pieces of plastic off the tops these wrap behind the ears and because its a flex cuff you can bend it to the right shape

anyway hope that helps and i haven't just totaly confused you

when you talk about flexicuff, i guess your not talking about the plastic cuffs used to arrest people ?

are u talking about the small metal and plastic thingie that u use to close bags ?

I believe he means those plastic draw ties which are basically what flexcuffs are.

Sorry blaster didnt think i was being very clear shadow83 is right its the really small draw ties/cable ties things that i use heres a stage by stage pic that hope helps a bit more. This is the easiest design but with the same technique you can make lots of different sunglasses designs anyway hope the pic helps to make it clearer


i havent included the final result as you have seen them on my figs but thats i do this type of sunglasses hope it helps.

I really like that idea.I think ill try that this weekend once i get some ties.Scope you come up with some really good ideas.

I've also gone "a-customizi'n" with some of the new BBI figures. This was going to be a new thread, but then I saw Blaster e11's...

The headswaps were almost a given from the start, but recently, I put the legs and arms of a SEAL figure on the torso (vest) of the Spec Ops figure to make more of a regular soldier in woodland cammo. I also added backpacks to other SEAL figures to create more regular-looking soldiers. I then used the spare legs and arms from the canibalized Spec Ops figure make a new Spec Ops figure using the torso and head of an older BBI Marine figure

Infantry figures, with the origional Combat Diver in the mix for comaprison.

Spec Ops figures, with the origional and the custom.

Here are my Night Stalker figures as well. Yeah, they aren't actually Marine helo pilots, but they look so good in the XD AH-1W! The Night vision goggles were removed from one helmet and the head of the gunner has been swapped. These figures barely fit in the cockpit.

The Body swaps with these new BBIs are great,the arms & heads & lower section pop out pretty easily

I used the boil & pop technique for the arms, save that the torsos on the new BBI figures pop off quite easily, almost as if they were meant to encourage customization. I didn't paint over any of my figures, though I've done that a little on some others, using acrylic paints.

Blaster, have you ever tried using the magic wand tool in your photo editing software? It's called something different depending on what software you have but the general idea is the same.

Among other things, it allows you select the background of an image, delete it, then drag and drop what's left onto a new background.

So say if you wanted your guys on a real cave floor.

It's really easy after a few tries. If there is interest I can probably do a quick tutorial? Let me know..

the pics where taken in a flower stand on my balcony, if you look carefully you can see the roof of anotherbuilding although i tried to get a proper angle
