1/72 Russian T-72 Fulda Gap

Post by Gunner » Thu Jun 29, 2006 6:12 pm

I grew up in the days of the Fulda Gap. Desert warfare just isn't my thing, so when I saw the FOV 1/72 Iraqi T-72, my only thought was, "That would be cool if it was painted Russian Green".

I bought three. One has a broken track, so I've set it aside for a future project. You can't see it in these pictures, but one had pre-weathered tracks, the other two didn't.

It still needs to be weathered and touched up, but I'm pretty happy with the results. At least my Dragon M1s, Bradleys and Challengers have something to shoot at (until I build some more).

That's some good work! Now try it with the 1:32 version

Actually, it came with the hatch open, and a commander figure in it. On one of them, I broke the figure apart getting it out, the other came out without a problem.

One of the interesting things was that the commander figure was painted head to toe, including belt and buckle, which was invisible until you took the figure out of the hatch (he's glued to a platform inside the hatch and isn't easy to remove).
