A Tale of Two Bradley's....

Actually, a better title might be "A Broken Bradley, Before and After" Well, in my recent quest for a an XD desert camo Bradley, a fellow forum member "Digger" offered to let me have one with a broken Bushmaster barrel if I would just cover the cost of shipping, so I took him up on the offer, thanks Digger! So, what to do with a broken Bradley?? The following series of pictures will give a graphic representation of how I accomplished the repair, and I hope you guys will like the results as much as I do. In the first pic we see the Bradley minus the Bushmaster barrel.......Next, we have the "raw" materials used in the repair, styrene plastic, the stuff models are made of, and these are actually "sprues", the plastic framework that model parts are attached to before assembly. The skinny piece will be our barrel, and the short stubby piece will be the muzzle brake/flash hider on the business end of the gun barrel.....Next, things are coming along nicely, the barrel and flash hider are beginning to take shape, and holes have been drilled with solid copper wire pins inserted for strength when the parts are assembled and glued together, this pic is a bit fuzzy, sorry about that...Next, we have the barrel assembly ready to be mounted in place on the Bradley.....Next, the finished barrel and muzzle brake assembly are glued in place on the Bradley. Next, here we see the completed project, the barrel is painted in a color to match the "desert camo", and for some contrast the muzzle brake/flash hider is painted flat black. I hope you guys like it, and thanks again to Digger for providing me with the basis for this project, thanks man, I owe you one. Regards,

Scott

Very Nice & very simple too :D

I`ve got the Woodland Bradley & sometime I will have to get a 2nd.

Again Nice work on the replacement Buchmaster that`s spot on & due yo materials used MORE solid & less prone to breaking now :D

Nice to see the sight & bars are NOT busted too ;)
Very cheap for something so simple to replace :D

Great fix! I should have gotten one of those desert Bradleys when they were gathering dust at a couple of my local Wal Marts, but I didn't (and still really don't) have the space. I wish they would have done a desert-cammo Bradley in a more contemporary desert cammo scheme to match the desert M113 and Hummers better.

Nice work!!! :D TMANs right about the paint jobs on the Bradleys and the Hummers---I wish they matched better too!!! Might of missed it --- but are you going to do a desert repaint to match the desert hummers better??? ---RED---

Thanks for all the positive comments guys. Red, I'm not sure what you mean about repainting, re-paint the Bradley to match the Hummer or vice versa?? For what it's worth the overall desert tan color is almost identical on both vehicles. As for the camo job on the 21C desert Bradley, it comes from a real vehicle which is pictured on the front cover of the Squadron Signal Publications booklet "M2 M3 Bradley In Action". I dont know if any hummers are painted camo, I will have to look into that. Follow this link to get an idea of what I'm talking about with regard to the Bradley's paint scheme... http://www.hobbylinc.com/htm/ssp/ssp2030.htm Cheers,
