Picture Frame Tiger Diorama

Post by Coreyeagle48 » Tue May 23, 2006 9:08 pm

Hi Everyone

I found a relatively inexpensive way to make nice diorama bases for smaller things. What I do is take a reasonable wood picture frame of the size and take out the glass and the cardboard insert. Then I make a foamboard piece cut to the size of the frame, add details, and insert it in the frame. I usually put the frame cardboard back in or use another piece of cardboard for good measure. You need the frame with those little metal tabs on them for this to work.

Here is an example using an old marx tiger i picked up at a yard sale for $5 and a 10 X 13 frame. Look under "picture frame diorama"

That's pretty good! Just one question though. Where's the Panzer VI? 8)
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it.

I think this is a great idea! I will try this on my current 1:32 mini-project and let you know how it turned out.
