Has anyone else noticed that the LEX fences are mounted on backwards?
Also I have chopped the front gear on 2 of mine in two seperate places so it would have a somewhat realistic stance.The first cut is right above the wheels and I used a 1/8" chrome steel rod so it could slide up and down so I could still retract the gear. The 2nd cut is higher up so I could really
cut out some length to get the stance lower.

I noticed it too and realized that they were super glued on when I was rummaging through photos in January. The feet should be in the other direction. I may actually tear them off down the road and build solid plastic ones.

But I've always felt the same way about the landing gear. I'd love to see some photos of the improvements!

LEX = Leading Edge Extension. This is the sharp strake that precedes the wing also known in some instances as a 'sabre' or knife edge. The F-16, F/A-18 and MiG-29, and SU-27 have good examples of this. It's located from about the area below the cockpit and extends a few feet until it blends into the wing shape. In this case, the LEX Fence is the canard like trapezoidal piece on the Hornet that is mounted vertically above the LEX. This was added in the mid 80's because stress fractures were discovered on the vertical stablizers. To offset stress and prevent cracks, these pieces were added which would dissipate aerodynamic flow around the vertical stabilizers. - Hope that helps
