U-boat Captain
U-boat Captain
As some of you know I have been working on a 1/18 U-boat captain. After some research I have decided to use the figure below as my base figure. Reminder I have not applied any paint or re-tooling yet. With that said does anyone think there would be a better combination of figures that would look/work better. I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Captain
You could have him standing there (knee-deep in water), shaking his fist at a ASW Avenger flying over.
Great custom work, by the way!

U- boat Captain
Thats one fine looking Kriegsmarine figure you've got there. I see you used the Ardenns open coat and arms. The head... is that from one of the USMC figures?
Great job!! I'd like to see a U-boat full of these guys.

I put the Verlinden German medals on my captains hat. I finshed with this guy until I make portion of a sub for him to sit in
Normandy it is the head of a USMC. Thanks for looking

Thank you all for the kind words on my U-boat Capt.
MK, Hot H2O and some elbow grease will get the job done. I let the figures sit under HOT water for about 8 minutes. You will feel the difference in the figure; you can’t bend them but the figure is defiantly soft. I use a hand towel for grip and just pull the torso of the legs. all in all it was to too hard to get them apart.

Thanks for the tip. I never tried the boiling method on the waist joint. I may try that this weekend.

You know, you really need to get a digital camera and share some of your work. I keep hearing about everything you do and curiosity will likely kill the MK.aferguson wrote:hm...maybe i should try that. I usually just break my figures apart and glue them onto the custom..
