Here is a toy .30 cal machine gun I slapped together for my 7 year old. It is mainly made of PVC conduit, metal conduit, wood and misc hardware. The ammo box is a real .30 cal or nato round box and the empty casings and links are .223. The tripod folds like a real one. Hope to add improvements and details on the next version...

Thats cool! It reminds me of an old toy my dad has from when he was a kid. His MG, about the same size, was the M1917 with waterjacket over the barrel. The gun actually fires wooden bullets about 3 yards when you turn a crank. Good work and lucky kid!

It is funny you mention that. I made a really crude version last year for my son`s "Silverado" pick up. We painted the truck OD and drilled a couple holes to mount the gun either in the front or in the "bed". It sort of took on the look of one of those "technicals" from Somalia. This year he kept pulling it off and carrying it around(or making the girl from next door carry it) to various postions in the back yard. That is what inspired me to make it...

Hmm, you would want a Ma-Duece for that application. I am going to do a mortar and a panzerschrek next, but when I get to a .50 cal Browning, I will take photos as I build it. Honestly, I really dont think these projects out too well ahead of time. I just go into the workshop and paw through my vast collection of hardware junk and piece them together. I come with ideas as I go along...

Reminds me when I was a kid and used to play army, we were poor so us kids made do with what was avaleble at the time. My favorite was using an old car jack as a 50 or 30 caliber and just proping it on a brick or yard.

Is that MG legal where you live?

Nice work.

There could be trouble if a lifesize Barbie got a hold of it during the wrong time of the month...

My Dad used to do that for us too when we were kids. Myself & my brothers were the only one`s who had scaled L1A1 SLR rifles albeit made out of wood with metal barrels.

Never anything like this, though then again a L1A1 is good enough :D

Excellent work mate :D

When I was at Secondry School (High school to you guys...lol) In CDT (Craft Design & technology) which was woodwork & metal work. We actually had a senior Police officer come in & tell us all we were NOT allowed to make Wooded/Metal firearm copies.Due to the numbers that had been recovered that had been used for robberies.

How`s that for spoiling boys creative juices :(

Thanks for the compliments. I pretty much have the small arms covered with the airsoft stuff that is available. Most are full scale, but they do make some 3/4 stuff. Too bad they dont make a M1 Garand in 1/2 or 3/4 scale. I have a nice 3/4 scale M4 carbine that my son uses. I am trimming out the parts for the Panzer Schrek. Once I figure out how to put it together and paint it, I will post the views. Perhaps Mr. Estes will provide some realistic rocket action...
