Well with dremel in hand away we go.At this point have no fear and start cutting.I will post how this is done step by step as it goes trying to cover how to scratch build and convert this tank. The entire front section was cut away to make room for front plate If you look at pic I just cleared hold down screws  that was pure luck I'm hoping plate will clear.I scaled up drawings for side armour.I will salavage front fenders man it looks scary at this point doesn't it.
Image
here you can were I just made it side cut at angle

Any suggestions or questions during build please let me know I try and post pics as I go along.

It's a little nuts but the end result will be more than cool and I don't think 21st will do this.I used a dremel with cutting wheel to hack off front section I had to cut wood block out but saved for later project.I had to trim at angle for plate to sit right the angle is tight to tie down screws it just clears.
Here is cutoff wheel used

here is shot of mocked up plates super glued in place masking tape holding it straight.

here is shot of supports glued in place to give structure strength.

Thanks MG42,stuka,flpickupman I thought I would peak more interest with 177 veiws and only 3 comments makes me wonder

Better place to get styrene is any plastic dealer. You can get more for your money than the little sheets a hoddy shops.

Is styrene strong? easy to cut?
why did i not know about this years ago - I could have been thrown into the kitbashing world earlier!!

If only....

Now all I need is an extra Tiger.
I have a pz IV pretty much pulled apart - but it is all plastic.

The superstructure is somewhat identical in comparison to the SturmPanzer "Brummbar". Although without a "crane", of course. It's good to see it coming along. Please continue providing us pic's on it.

I think some folks might be a little intimidated to comment one way or the other..

I know your efforts impress the heck out of me. I feel like I'm in over my head with the project I'm doing now. Keep fighting the good fight. I'm anxious to see the end result.

Stuka, styrene is what we're building 1/6 tanks and parts out of right now. Strong enough for you? :D

Very cool - I actually live close to that area - grew up in Conyers.
:D
The area gives me apx 9 WMs within 50 miles from my house and about three-or four TRUs

The only chasis I have to work with is the PZ IV I gutted the RC motor out - when I have time I will get some research on doing a PZ IV/70(V) or Brummbar.

Sorry Stuka and others for not replying on this right away I work out of town alot great to see other members steer you in the right direction on plastic used.Evergreen as suggested for armor structure I use 080" thick for detail and hatches you may wan't to look at 040" thick.I use zap super glue to hold main structure together and liquid when adding finer pieces.Hope this helps. Thanks to others for picking up this thread when I was gone thanks.David

Just a minor level hijacking here..

How did you fashion the turret lift points on the other tiger? I'd like to be able to add that little detail to mine. Thanks

And the build goes on (I love the smell of burning plastic in the morning) here is shot of back the hatch is from the panther I made into a jagd I reused it and it was to scale made hinges from plastic card.
Image
Now on to the zimmerite I use a small looks like a woodburning kit but comes with 4 tips this IMO works the best for me.No messy puttys, special tools and all that crap just power and heat. This is what it looks like.
Image
now we lay down the pattern don't push to hard or let it get really hot I would practice on a piece of scrap first and get used to it.The arrow is pointing at where I will have chipped of zimmerite I leave this blank and come back later and detail it.
Image
here is side shot arrow shows bolts made from super sculpey pulled from mold I will cover that later. The other arrow shows knocked off fender with zimmerite added right to bottom half as well as battle damage in corner of fender and back.
