I've recently finished the 1/48 Eduard SSW D.III German biplane.

Very neat looking. I like the camo on most of the WWI planes. But I could never master them.

Thanks.
In this build supplied decals were used for camo so no painting required :) .

Well done !! But I don't think both ailerons would be hanging down like that unless there is a broken control cable. Should be one up and one down.

Thank you for the info. I did not know that

I have seen that mistake on many models that were built by folks that have not been around real aircraft. It's really a beautiful model, but that issue jumped right out at me. Hope you can fix it without much trouble.

I've seen many ww1 biplanes in my local museum but never noticed about that. It's just a minor thing to fix, I just bend one up, glue, and it's done.

Thank you Gents.

I'm starting to like the WW1 biplanes more and more now. I want a few more for my collections. I'm currently working on the DH2 and the rigging looks quite complicated  . I think I'm going to take my time on this one.

Outstanding work. When I saw the post, I was hoping someone was doing 1/18 WWI aircraft.

A few years ago there was an announcement that 21st Century or Admiral was going to produce a line of 1/18 WWI planes, but there was never any further info.

That was more than a few years; it's been about a decade since those companies folded. And considering 21st's shaky condition near the end it was unlikely they were going to be able to put out any new product lines. More like wishful thinking on their part.

I think the company that was going to make the 1/18 prebuilt WWI aircraft was Admiral Toys... 21st never announced anything like that from what I recall. It’s too bad Admiral Toys folded as they were a good company and had a lot of neat aircraft in development. That said, if one has the cash, the 1/30 scale prebuilt resin WWI aircraft made by John Jenkins Designs are amazing!

Just google John Jenkins Designs you will find it. You can check out this site they sell JJD stuff too https://www.treefrogtreasures.com/c-177 ... pagenum=15
JJD makes very nice WW1 bi-planes but they are too rich for me

There are a number of retailers that sell the JJD products... The prices are high, but not as high as other premium 1/30 scale lines like K&C, Thomas Gunn, Figarti, and others. The JJD prices will also be consistent between all retailers. Here are a few I’ve dealt with:

Aiken’s Airplanes:

Treefrog Treasures:

Sierra Toy Soldiers:

K&C, Thomas Gunn don't make ww1 bi-planes as nice as JJDs in terms of details and quality. Especially the wooden war birds from TG they lack in details overall and they sell for $500 plus on average
