I happen to luck out and become the proud owner of two Tuskegee P-51s.
Of course, both of these planes did not come with the official Tuskegee Airmen to pilot them. So, I had to make them.
I tried different African-American heads from several different lines and they were okay.
I happen to find a couple new 1/18 Elite Force modern figures at my local 5 below store.
So, I soaked the figure in boiling water to loosen him up and POP! The head came off really well. Instead of the same old peg at the bottom of the neck, this one had a short, round disk. I carefully cut it off and tried it into a body of a P-51 pilot and this is what I got:
I like the expression on his face and I found an officer's hat that completed the look.
Anyone else experiment with these new figures for a project?

Great job Mark!
What makes the P-51 Mustang so special?

Great work! I was thinking of doing something similar at one time using an older BBI African American soldier figure or the head from the 21c Vietnam figure. Although borrowing a trick from Coreyeagle48, I simply repainted the face of a 21c P-38/P-47 pilot figure brown and it came out pretty decent
