1:18 Kettenkrad!

This was made one of board member grunt1's Shapeways 3D printing kits. I went with the German Army gray as it would work the majority of my 1:18 German figures & vehicles (I've only got one Fallschrimjager unpackaged, the rest are carded). After seeing the pictures, I can see a few hard-to-reach spots that still need a little touching up... Nevertheless, enjoy

This was my first time working with a Shapeways 3D printed product. The kit was really nice and easy to build. Still, it had its own unique attributes compared to building a regular plastic kit or one of Pickelhaube's resin kits. The material is much more lightweight and fragile, so you have to work with it carefully. Not much sanding is required, though you do need to wash & scrub the parts to remove dust prior to painting or gluing. The material (which is akin to a hard foam) also tends to soak up paint, so more than one layer is often reqired. Still, I will get further products from grunt1's Shapeways!
