1/72 Ju-390 Finally Done!

Post by Jnewboy » Mon Apr 30, 2012 5:55 pm

Finally done!
I stopped half way through to build an addition onto my house...
Suppose to take a month and ended up actually taking 4 months :?

Anyway, the Ju390 was made from two Revel Ju290 kits as you can imagine.
Used a small wooden dowel as a wing spare. I would not recommend trying this custom unless you have allot of experience modeling. Sawing the wings with a Razor Saw was simple but the body was not as there are many internal compartments. Also being that it is 1/72 all the original panel lines disappear by the time you have the spliced areas attached, puttied, and sanded down making you have to redraw all if them

In the end it was worth it as it is a cool looking bird and not everyone has one in their collection.. 8)

Overall size is about 26" wing span and just under 18" long

That would be stupendous in 1/32, but it would eat up a full quarter of my ceiling space!!!

Amazing work.

Thanks! the 290 kits dont include swastikas, I guess I could have found some that would work but I wanted to do minimal decals anyway. Besides enough people probably think Im a nazi so here is my chance!

Outstanding, Jnewboy.

A very unique aircraft, and you have done a great job doing this model.
