Tweeking Merit Tiger1

Post by Yoxford » Wed Mar 07, 2012 8:47 am

Been working on the Merit Tiger 1 over the last month...finally finished the zimmerit, and most detail work. Still need to re-do the Brown & Green camo, decals, add mucho photo etch clamps and wingnuts, and weather…but getting closer!

The sign of a great model is that one’s eye is not drawn to any one feature, yet one can study it for hours and continually find something new.

Nice work Yox! I found this doing some research, it may be old news to you, but it was helpful to me when modifying the FoV and 21C Tigers.

Thanks Grunt 1...yes the book from Jentz & Doyle "Germany's Tiger Tanks D.W. to Tiger I" has been indispensable for me over the years…a must have if you want an accurate Tiger I…also this link is extremely helpful in detailing. http://tiger1.info/vehicle.html

I would guess this is 1/16 scale ?
Kirk Douglas : Mine hit the ground first
John Wayne : Mine was taller

You are correct sir!...
Finished the periscopes (painted/prism/and mounted)…little buggers took 2 days to get them right…

Great day for airbrushing…tri-color camo on, ready for a few touch ups, then a filter, decals, and weathering….almost there

Today I added the Filter. It blends the tone of the colors a bit more and really makes it pop. The filter I used was made by MIG products, P242, “Tan for Tri-Tone Camo”.

Are you going to do an oil dot filter also?

nope no 3 dot color fade, just weathering powders & dry brushing. Shot the decal areas with Future last night and will add the new decals tonight.
