a trick for making slushy ice

i've been making a battle of the bulge tiger, with a light covering of frost and snow on it. I wanted to show it as if it had been running for a while so the snow is all melted from the engine deck, only a bit of slush remaining. I tinkered with a couple of ideas and found one that works amazingly well.
I brushed on white glue in the areas i wanted the slush to be and then covered the white glue in krazy glue...regular original krazy glue.
After drying 24 hours the effect is amazing. The krazy glue makes the white glue dry 'krinkly' looking, still somewhat transparent but slightly frosted looking and with a glossiness to it. The krazy glue will flow out a bit onto the model itself and make it look shiney as though wet around the slush.
