Really good! Just one thing, the red oxide looks like it is too brown. Needs more red in it!

Thanks Mr Expert ,but thats fresh dirt(earth)on the tracks and where the zimmerit is broke away is hull red primer

She looks great but way to small of scale.

The camo, mud, chipping, and all looks really great though, However, I do agree with PH. It is too tiny. We need a 1/18!

I tend to agree with Zelda on this on flyboy. I believe some people go a little overboard with the "pinkness" of their red oxide primer. That pick of yours is one example. Here is a pic of conserved red oxide:



In some cases I might favor a lighter shade of the red oxide, adding a little white to the mix, if it were for example, tank still on the assembly line that has seen no exposure other than the dust in the air of the factory. But, a vehicle like Zelda's that has had an application of zimmerit over it that has broken off, and has subsequently been rained on and walked over and mudded on, etc, it is bound to be darker than that factory fresh shade.

I myself use Vallejo red oxide primer comes out darker than one would expect looking at the bottle, but that is true of a lot of acrylics. My stug that I did a while back featured one red oxide schurzen piece, and it turned out pretty dark too. It doesn't help that the picture sucked...



Anyway, just my two cents.

Yea, not saying it looks bad or anything. It looks great, just a little... well done for my tastes. I usually go for lighter shades of red oxide where there is more red in the mix to brown. But that's me. Colors/paints change with use - they get dirty, dusty, fade, darken, ect...

But looking at your pic with the dark spot on the right, it looks just like Zelda's!

WOW! That is very impressive. I personally have the 1944 germany version. I like the fact that it had subtle camo and the base yellow can really reveal itself as well. I seriously think that the germany version can be a normandy version since the camo is very similiar.

Great paint jobs on both vehicles. I like them both., especially the Tiger II which looks like a true battle-scarred veteran from fighting in France.

The only thing I can add to the mix is regarding the turret numbers on Tiger II tanks.

Normal tank establishment in the German heavy tank battalions was 3 companies each of 3 platoons, and 4 tanks in each platoon.
The left hand number identifies the company, middle number is the platoon in company,
right hand number is vehicle in platoon number.So the turret numbers for the members of 3 company would be:

1 platoon 311 312 313 314
2 platoon 321 322 323 324
3 platoon 331 332 333 334

Blue numbers outlined in white would indicate Schwere SS Panzer Abteilung 101, I'm not sure the other battalions used blue numbers.

Thanks for the comments,yes I have been told that the blue #'s should be outlined in yellow,I have got to stop going from memory and check those details out,

Actually I think your blue and white is probably most accurate because as far as I understand, when the 3 company was re-equipping with Tiger 1 in the months prior to D-Day, their turret numbers were originally painted in solid white, but this made them stand out too much, so the blue centres were added.

Whatever, it's a great looking model.

Your normandy tiger looks REALLY REALLY SWEET. You have a great skill in terms of camo. Love the light dust spray. I would add the AA machine gun and dirty up the wheels and tracks with mud. The muzzle can also use a dark spray if you want the battle damaged looks. But still, all of your customs look great.

Great Custom 1/32's. Keep them coming!!! The Tiger I looks great!!!. The Normandy camo looks amazing. Thanks for showing!
