Small Scale Military Headquarters

Hi guys,
After managing to make my first pics non viewable on Photobucket and receiving no help from their tech support, I opened up another account using the helpful info I got here.

I found some on-line pics of these planes as they first appeared and have re-posted them here. They were very basic and toy-like and a far cry from subsequent releases. I refurbed this aircraft over a v-e-r-y long time. Before I self destructed the previous thread, there was a request for additional cockpit details. These aren't the greatest but provide some idea of what was done. All of it was done with the plane assembled which was tedious to say the least! Note the authentic black diamond on the tail in the early pics.

THe green seams a tad light to me. But what do I know.

"The following airplane of the Jagdgeschwader 6 is and was discussed since long time because of its real coloring of the Group and Wing markings. On late afternoon of the 8th May 1945 parts of the Jagdgeschwader 6 surrendered to the 10th Reconnaissance Group of the U.S. Army at Fürth airfield close to Nuremburg in southern Germany.

Besides the Black and White shots several color photos was made of the Focke Wulf 190 "Dora" with the W.Nr. 500570. Even with these extreme high amount of photographic Information's, evidence and Documents the correct coloring of the group and wing markings are in question.

Now, the mystery is solved! With the new book of "Focke Wulf Fw-190 D Camouflage & markings Part II" by JaPo Publishing all the fact are clearly investigated and now it is clear that the plane was a "Blue 12" assigned to the 8th/JG 6!

Your repaints look great! I wanted to repaint my Doras, but I decided to build the Hasegawa kits instead. The 109 looks sooo much better with the improved canopy and cockpit details, thanks for posting!

The cockpit work on that 109 is fantastic. Did you put the same level of detail into the 190's cockpit?

Thanks for the compliments. The 190 did not get the full treatment as it started out as repaint for a friend who was going to hang it up. He eventually lost interest and gave it to me but I was too far into re-painting it to start going crazy again. I did plan to redo another one as a fully detailed FW-190A "Sturmbock" but with the Skyworks demise, that one is on hold. Is anyone else going to try and make those conversion parts?

I agree on a FW190 Conversion, Hope we see one, I would certainly go for that, there are several schemes I'd like to do.

Yep. This is the same one I made you guys go crazy on with the little stencils! And you should be recognizing the old "Blue 12" also although I updated the camo scheme after I sent you the last pics.
Flyboy- Ref the AAG-16 antenna mast for the Lorenz FuG 16ZY VHF radio under the starboard wing I think this one is correct. I went back and checked my references and viewing both the black and white as well as the only color picture I've found of this plane when it was at Furth shows the antenna element, which is held on the extension mast with two bolts, seemingly bent forward. Some other clearer pics of another "Dora", W.Nr 21115, photographed in Pilsen, Czechoslovakia, show this same orientation more clearly. Other planes, like the captured JG-26 machine at the USAF museum at Dayton, Ohio, have it straight down and others have it bent rearward (all Me -262's seem to have it that way).
