What can be made of the 21stC standard Hanomag/Halftrack?

Post by Razor17019 » Fri Aug 12, 2011 6:37 am

The custom work done on the 1/18 tanks by our board members is truely amazing. But for me, out of my price range. I thought we could explore the possible customizing of the standard 21stC hanomag and halftrack.
Does anyone have any possible configurations to present??

Next year I will do a series for the Hanomag.

Starting with my back dated version.

I know some Krylon paints similar to German camo... On the other hand, I will paint a Hanomag with vallejo paints for $5 more then what the Krylon paints would cost, $20 for some Tri color... That would just fix up the paint on it...

As for some easy mods.... Well, there are really not many mods for a 251 that would be easy other then adding a MG shield to a Stuka zu fuss or on the Pioneerwagen instead of the AT gun.

The wiki has a list of the 251 variants.

PH. you should make some addon kits for the 251s Like a stummel or something like that. Then they would be cheaper then a new hull. I would love a stummel!

I have been planning an sdkfz 251/17. With a bit of modification to the inside and the pedastal and gun you could build one.

I started to build a 251/9 stummel but it looked like JSI had one they were going to sell so I lost interest.

Unfortunately I have had to pass on a lot of pickel's work, but I just can't pass on the chance to make a DAK Hanomag.

Thats another variant of the 251 I'd like to try.

Thanks,
I've learned a lot in terms of scratchbuilding since then so I may take another crack at it sometime, right now too many other projects to finish.

flamethrower version:

http://www.omgmod.org/wiki/index.php/Sdkfz_251/16

IR searchlight version 'uhu':

http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/r ... v35116.htm

Both are relatively easy customs.
