FOV Stug III Customization

Post by tmanthegreat » Thu Jun 02, 2011 7:30 pm

The latest FOV Stug III "Eastern Front 1943," seems to be the most boring of the Stugs, even with all the neat figures and stowage. I decided that the vehicle looks better weathered and with schurtzen. I am by no means a professional modeler, but here is how it turned out:

The Schurtzen came from a spare "Italy 1944" Stug III that I got for cheap at K-Mart a year or so ago (so I didn't mind using them). They were airbrushed with Tamiya acrylic Dark Yellow for a the base; Red Brown and Deep Green for the cammo. All colors are close matches to the colors on the FOV tank. This was actually my first attempt at airbrushing a "complex" German cammo scheme and I am not displeased with the results 8)

Looks much, much better. Great job.
I didn't realize the "new" stug did not come with the side skirts.

Good job Tman!
The sign of a great model is that one’s eye is not drawn to any one feature, yet one can study it for hours and continually find something new.
