Rudels tankbuster needs help

Post by Crazy Kraut » Mon May 16, 2011 12:34 pm

Hi guys
I´m on work with PH Rudel-Kit and need to get some help for the decals. I´m not sure about the size. In my opinion a little bigger will be right. Does somebody know if the small tank at the front is painted on both sites or only at one? The only original one in England has it only on its left side many models on both sides?!?!?
If somebody could send me such a tank painting via email for using it as a decal I would be very thankfull.
Let me know what you think

Regards from Germany

As far as I can tell the white tank marking was only on the left side. One should do. If you want more comparisons to the size and placement of Rudel's markings, go here...http://www.pilotenbunker.de/Stuka/Rudel/rudel.htm

Where did that profile come from ?

See this:

That is what you are going for?
If so remember that the the Germans usually did not apply the winter camo with spray guns as there weren't enough to go around and not enough time. It looks cool like the model above but not really correct. They literally sometimes splashed it on with brushes or whatever. So I would use a brush for the white. See below

Excactly Jnewboy!!
I´ll do the Winter camo with an useable brush. Like I´ve done at my winter fw190 and the russian P40 and all my other winter stuff.
I think the same way like you did. There was no spraying near the frontline, they used brooms, cloth or big brushes.
Jnewboy, if you ever do your Mistel, please let me know. I´ve got such a Ju88 still waiting here and I really like your idea to combine it with an Seemann Me109.
Still working at the Stuka-Decals. Searching for the small maintenance- fuel- and oil textes. Found via Google a decal sheet with the little white tanks on it. Maybe I can use it.
I´ve got the Ju87 Winter-picture from a friend of mine. He plans to paint his HPH-Ju87 the same way.
