1:18 Flags
1:18 Flags
Does anyone make their own german flags to put on the back of their armor, I know you can buy them, but it seems they would'nt be too hard to make, any suggestions?

Re: 1:18 Flags
I only attempted a 1:18 flag once as I wanted a Soviet flag for one of my Indy Russian figures to carry. My process was rather crude, but the results weren't too bad... Here's what I did:
1) Googled a picture of a Soviet Russian flag & made sure it was a large enough graphic with good resolution
2) Cut and pasted the image into a photoshop/paint document & scaled the image to the desired size
3) Duplicated the image so that I had two copies
4) Reversed one of the images so that it would be the other side of the flag
5) Printed the images out with the highest quality color settings
6) Carefully cut out the images and glued them to a stick (pole) using liberal amounts of white glue
7) While the glue and paper were still damp, I added crinkles and folds to the flag to simulate movement of the cloth.
8 ) Allowed the paper to dry and retain its folded, wavy shape.
Here's a picture:

Again, its not perfect, but for something that took under half an hour to produce, I was content

That looks great, problem is I suck at photoshopping, but you have gave me a idea, I'll see what I can do, thanks.
Re: 1:18 Flags
I've made some very simple flags with white synthetic silk (like for old fashionned RC-planes) and colour silk pencils. Not suitable for complicated flags, but they really float in the wind. Had to put textile glue at the edges so the textile doesn't go to run. Made one green-white-black and black-white-red, something like some country flags you can see in the middle-east.
