32X P-47D wheels...??

This is probably a long shot, but I was wondering if anybody has attempted to remove/replace the wheels on the 32X P-47...?? I picked up a really nice set of 1:32 resin wheels with the wide diamond pattern tire and 6 spoked inner rim that was found on many of the later D models of the Jug. These look really nice, and I think they would be an improvement over the cheezy looking narrow smooth tread "dish" style wheels that come standard with the 21st P-47. Any ideas, suggestions, or prior experience with removing or replacing the stock wheels would be appreciated.

I did but a set for the 32x 109E plus I was going to try a squadron vac-u-form canopy. I got the wheels in the post, and never started to the upgrade as I was put off by the work to remove the stump from the casting(I hate working with resin)..and it just got shelved as I went to other projects.

Yeah, resin pieces can have some pretty large casting blocks on em', and it's tough stuff that is considerably more difficult to sand out or cut than styrene. I was pretty fortunate with these wheels as one of them is pretty much perfect and won't require any work, but the other has a fairly small sprue that is gonna need some sanding. My main concern/question is how to get the stock wheels off the Jug without breaking something. This is probably not a mod many (if any) people around here have done, so I'm probably just going to have to (carefully) have a go at it.
