Hobby Lobby carries resin and mold making kits. If you have the stores in your area, they run 40% off coupons every other week also.

any good wargaming/mini store will have casting kits/sets

I use it to make copies of ground works..craters, roads, railbeds, bridges, etc in 15mm for Flames of War.

http://www.smooth-on.com/

love their moldmaking rtv and their resin.

they have some great how-to videos on their site.

Their starter kit is a good price at $50

They're also great to deal with as a company. When I was a poor design student they shipped me tons of free samples (worked well for them, they've kept my business :) ).

flyboy, you should try contacting them and let them know what you're working on and that you're a student and can't afford to go all out but would love to try their product, see if you can get a discount or some freebies.
