Onward to Berlin...!! Za Berlina..!!

Post by ostketten » Sun Nov 22, 2009 11:46 am

Troops of an elite Soviet Guards Infantry Division with a T-34 tank in support, advance past a destroyed German farmhouse in January/February 1945 during the Soviet Oder-Vistula Offensive & the Red Army's final assault on Berlin... 8)

Someone started a thread a while back asking about the new Build-A-Rama 1/32 scale "Dio-mats", so I decided to get one for evaluation purposes.... The mats are nice, but a bit pricey for what you get in my opinion, even so, it gave me some good ideas about producing homemade versions of these mats using cheap, readily available materials from local craft stores like "Michael's" etc. Something similar should be fairly simple and less expensive to produce, but my biggest question would be what kind of paints/dyes or whatever to use... if anyone has suggestions in this regard I would greatly appreciate hearing them... 8) Click the pics to enlarge...
