Okay, maybe this one will be obvious, but what would be the best way to make a 1:18 flagpole? What is there other than like a toothpick painted silver, with a printed flag glued to it? LOL
I have a pretty cool idea for a small diorama which needs a flagpole...

Get a thin styreen tube ( $2.70 for 3 at a hobby store ) and put a BB on top of it.

What he said, or a wooden dowel of a suitable diameter should work as well.

My local Ace Harware sells brass tubing. You can get a 12" piece for about $.99.

I smell the right answer :) I am probably going to get some rubble from somewhere, have the marines raise the flag on that.
Thanks for your suggestions everyone. I will have to take a look and see what would be the best. Any idea for a flag other than printing one out?

How about an old automobile radio antenna from a junk car.
