He is still alive. I met him at EAA Airenture this year.PanzerArm wrote:Is he still alive? I remember reading an article in WWII magazine a few years back and it mentioned that he was the highest scoring German ace that was still alive.
Man it would be cool to get him to sign that bird

Gunther Rall was the third highest scoring ace behind Hartmann and Barkhorn.PanzerArm wrote:Is he still alive? I remember reading an article in WWII magazine a few years back and it mentioned that he was the highest scoring German ace that was still alive.

That would be cool to meet him, I have seen that Gunther Rall has toured before and if he gets back here and within reasonable travelling distance, I will see if I can meet him.

I know that... but the reason I said it is because Hartmann and Barkhorn are dead, herego, the highest scoring ace still living.Gunther Rall was the third highest scoring ace behind Hartmann and Barkhorn

Great Repaint!
I wish there was a way to experience what it was like to sit in the cockpit... other than playing IL-2

herego? ...I think you mean "ergo"... Hartmann and Barkhorn are dead, herego, the oldest one still living.
